Smith, who has more than 25 years of experience as a technology strategist and digital disruptor, its chief information officer, Kathy Cody, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Orchid Insurance, announced today.
Smith, who recently served as chief information technology officer at Constellation, Inc. where he helped save the medical professional liability carrier increase productivity and eliminating waste, will oversee the modernization and transformation of Orchid’s information and computer technologies, said Cody.

Smith, who previously served at BlueCross BlueShield Minnesota and Ameriprise Financial, has a demonstrated history of achievement in delivering innovative insurance and technology products. He was nationally recognized among the “10 Best CTOs of 2020,” by Industry Era, and regionally by Twin Cities as a “CIO of the Year ORBIE Award Finalist 2020.
