VERO BEACH, FL. – September 23, 2019 – Orchid Underwriters Agency, LLC (“Orchid Insurance”), a leading specialty underwriter of catastrophe exposed property insurance, announced today that Katherine Cody has joined Orchid Insurance as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, a new role within the organization. In this capacity, Cody will be responsible for driving the operational, functional and business areas of the organization. She will work closely with Orchid’s President and CEO, Brad Emmons along with its partner, TowerBrook Capital Partners as they execute on Orchid’s strategic growth opportunities and continued expansion of the business.

Prior to joining Orchid Insurance, Cody served as Chief Operating Officer, Personal Lines, for Farmers Insurance Group. During her 10 years at Farmers, Kathy led Personal Lines underwriting, finance and analytics, operations and strategy execution teams as well as serving as Chief Financial Officer for the life business. “I am excited to join Brad and the Orchid Insurance executive team as we continue to build upon Orchid’s solid foundation and take the organization to the next level,” said Cody. “The amount of growth opportunities the team is working on is truly energizing, and I look forward to continuing the momentum at Orchid while retaining the well-established entrepreneurial spirit.”
Cody will be relocating from Los Angeles, CA to Orchid’s headquarters in Vero Beach, FL.
